 Motorized Head
Here's a few more... I would think after a while we can just create a master-sticky with all of this listed (rather than peppering the thread with information here and there?) Motorized Anythinghttp://www.servocity.com/ - Servos, controllers, turn-key motorized head solutions Saftey/Rigging/etchttp://www.rescueresponse.com/ - carabiners, pulleys, saftey lines, triangular screw-link

Heres another variation on the two static cable idea. Check out the pictures and videos. Some great high speed ski and car racing vids. Will be used at Beijing olympics. Its called Camcat http://www.brainsandpictures.com/camcat/gallery

 Re: Links
Hey Guys I found this link. It is a powerpoint file. It has a fair bit of winch design stuff in it. Mainly targeting theare use and mains power motors, but the ideas can be adapted. Formulas at the start for calculating motor size and pulley diametre. lots of photos and cad drawings. Enjoy http://www.patrickimmel.com/usitt/techprod/LV06_NOTES/USITT%202006%20Winch%20Session%20com.ppt

 Re: Links
Good find! A lot of these designs remind me of the winch setups we use in wakeboarding. Not to mention the cable routing on the "Frankenwinch" (page 42) is crazy! I hate Power Points slides so I converted it to a .pdf for those who don't have PPT.. I tried uploading it here, but the forum doesn't allow .pdf extensions. http://www.dpcfilms.com/HowTo/Articles/ ... com_lo.pdf
